We are a 2 people family with a lot of pets like dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, gooses and a horse. Our farm is located 7 km. from Purranque and 2 km. from Corte Alto, in a beautifull scenary with with meadows, creeks, small lagoons and native forest. In our farm you can learn many things about the use of medical herbes, how to milk goats, how to treat animals when they are sick and to get better self confidence in yourself. From April until July we don´t produce milk neither goatcheese because our goats are pregnant and waiting for the baybgoats that will be born in the end of July. But we always have work. In this month we take care of our animals, prepare the earth for planting, dry seeds, repair woodthings around the farm. After July starts the birthes from the little baby goats. Help in these types of work:-feeding chicken, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, goats -cleaning goat-house-cut wood and transport cutted Wood-repairing fences-planting in the greenhouse-help in the house-milking-cheesemaking. Minimum stay is 3 weeks, better 1-2 month. More you stay more you will learn. If all other activities that takes responsability (like animals-feeding, milking) are well-done the volunteer is aloud to learn the cheesemaking, because it needs a lot of confidence. We prefer couples but also singles can come. We are used to share our home with 1-2 volunteers. Also very welcome volunteers that have good level in construcción and knowledge in farmwork

My 5 week stay at Praderas del Sur was amazing! There is truly only positiv feedback to give. The work was fun, taking care of the animals, cooking togehter and helping with other upcoming projects. Katrin and Ziley are incredibly good hosts, with who you will have a lot of fun and interesting converstations about their farm and their work. It is very moving how much heart, emotion and hard work is behind Praderas del Sur, which is why you will probably be pleased to help. And also there is always support needed, which Katrin and Ziley are very greatful for. It was such a nice time with great experiences, opportunities to learn new things about cultivating land and animalcare, delishious food and inspiring people.
