Franco and his brother Arturo are two truly generous, funny and cheerful persons. We learnt a lot about planting different kind of plants, pines and also mushrooms. We spent a lot of time in nature and they taught us to value every living thing, no matter if it’s a plant or an animal. Our conversations were not only very interesting, but also profound and educational. We will come back for sure! Thank you for everything and hopefully see you in Europe next time ;)

While I didn’t get to meet Franko, I had a really great experience staying with his brothers Arturo and Bastian. There was good variety in the tasks on the farm and they were really good about explaining their process and describing future goals for their property. It’s already really amazing what they have accomplished and I can’t wait to come back in a few years to see how things progress.
They are both very kind and made me feel like part of the family from day 1. I feel very fortunate to have had this week here with them and would love to come back again sometime. This place is a little piece of heaven.

Liwkura-Experience was our first ever wwoofing experience an it was from the start a great one!
We got to stay with Arturo, one of the brothers that live and create this wonderful project. The athmosphere was relaxed and we felt very well looked after our needs and wants in every aspect.
As it was off-season during our one week stay, and autumn already in full swing, it was raining quite a lot. Nevertheless, Arturo found us some work and we helped to tidy up the workshops and could enjoy some working hours in the winter garden, were we learned how to make seedlings from different trees. Work was also arranged in a way that we would work some full days to be able to explore the region, together with Arturo, or on ourselves. We could venture on some hikes, enjoying this beautiful region from snow topped peaks around the Vulcano Villarrica to the thick and colourful forest of Santuario El Cañi.
We can just recommend staying there and getting to know the Liwkura-Experience for oneself.
Thank you Arturo for everything - see you next time!

I spent a full week here in the beautiful region of Pucón and I could not believe my eyes every time I stepped outside, with the volcano as a direct view, incredible. The work hours were super good and in terms of the work itself it was of a moderate difficulty. I did not get the chance to meet Franko, I only met his brothers Bastian and Arturo, and Josefina, Arturo wonderful girlfriend, regardless they were just as nice as the other comments I read that made me determine to come to this place. There is only one thing and that I was obligated to pay for the groceries. I am an 18 year old fresh out of high school with zero budget for food or accommodation, hence one of the reasons I choose to do wwoofing. So here I was a bit conflicting, Bastian kept using the word community and that I had to put my part in, which I completely understand, but then wwoofing doesn’t follow those guidelines and therefore lies a slight problem. Wwoofing states that you work and in exchange you receive food and accommodation. Since I only stayed a week, I payed my part of 30,000 pesos, but that was when I discovered that not long after my arrival two other wwoofers joined me and did the same, while never seeing Bastian pay for any groceries, always letting the volunteers pay. There could be an insinuation of profit here… Other than that, my time in Refugee was very good and I enjoyed it very much. (Seen by WWOOF Chile and corrective mesires will be taken)

Reply from Franko
Dear, I am sorry for this inconvenience, but it is something that is asked of all volunteers and it is made clear to them before their arrival, each one accepts according to the conditions that they are informed, we are not yet a commercial farm to provide food support, we are on our way to be one, but we do exchange with accommodation, our tourism activities in the area for free and the experiences and teachings of the place. There is no profit motive with the money, it is only to pay for the feeding of each volunteer and in this case of the whole team, who each one puts their corresponding quota. There is no profit or intention of this. I am sorry for this, we have already talked with the woofer team and the shelter team and this misunderstanding will not happen again. Greetings.
