I had a really good time with Ricardo and his family! It was a special week where we managed to do a lot of farming work with the sheeps ( normally it's only work with strawberries). I go out of here with a lot of new experiences and totally satisfied

I stayed at the estancia of Ricardo for about one week and it was an amazing and unic experience! I stayed there with another volunteer and lived togheter with Ricardo and his sister. We got to know the family of Ricardo, who all are really nice and helpful! For the week we helped on the farm to marc all the sheep and worked a bit with the strawberries aswell. We had a lot of fun working and eating lunch with the team who workes on the farm for the season! It was really interessting to see them working with the horses, dogs and sheep and to get to know local food and traditions! The last evening we shared dinner and enjoyed a lovely time all togheter! Inculded some live folklore music, which was amazing! Ricardo is a really nice and passionated person, who loves to show and explain about his work on the farm and his daily life in general! It was really interessting to get to know traditional farming in tierra del fuego aswell as new projects and ideas Ricardo is working on. I felt really welcome at his farm and his home! He's just a great host and a lovely person! An experience for a lifetime! Muchas gracias! --

I have spent an amazing week in the estancia segunda esperanza with Ricardo. He has been great sharing with me all the different aspects of the farm, I have leart a lot about how works a typical estancia in tierra del fuego. We have worked together on the stramberries greenhouses and the rhubarbe plantation (weeding, haversting, watering...) The farm is an amazing place, really beautiful and peaceful, located in a valley in tierra del fuego. Beside the sheep, dogs, and horses of the estancia, they were also many bird species, even flamingos. Ricardo really integreted me in his dailly life, we had an amazing dinner the first night in his familly, shared lunches with everyone in the farm, and had dinner-movie night the two of us the evenings. Everyone was very nice and generous ! Ricardo is passioned is a great cook, and passionated about it ! I slept in a very comfortable container but felt also at home in Ricardo's home. The week-end, we drove to see the king penguin colony. Thamks a lot again Ricardo for the great stay :)

We spent 10 days with Ricardo, family and workers in Segunda Esperanza and it was an incredible experience! We learnt a lot from Ricardo about strawberries, greenhouses and sustainable production and got to experience the beautiful life and work on a traditional, sustainable sheep farm. Our work in April consisted of weeding and harvesting the strawberries and helping with improving the greenhouses and compost. We also participated a little in general work on the farm and planted some trees. Ricardo and everyone else at the farm are open and generous. We shared most meals, with everyone at lunch and took turns to cook with Ricardo to cook in the evening. The food was local and delicious. Ricardo shares our belief that food is a way to connect people and we loved this aspect of the stay too. We slept in a converted container next to the main houses. This space was warm and comfortable and had hot water. We enjoyed having our own space but were also made to feel at home in Ricardos house next door, where we shared many good cups of coffee/mate, meals, chats and general buena onda :) The farm itself is in a peaceful location with beautiful sunrises, sunsets and stars. We visited the king penguin colony in Tierra del Fuego close by and said hello to the alpacas at Ricardo's fathers farm. Thank you Ricardo, Granny, Piti, Maria, Sacha, Figo, Fermin and everyone else at segunda esperanza!
